In a match that some expected to be a close contest, the Atlanta Renegades defeated local rival Old White soundly on their own home pitch, 41-25.
The previous matchup back in December resulted in a tie, with the Renegades missing several key starters due to injury, including captain Scott Hutchison. Fortunately for the Renegades, all of their players healed up in time for the rematch.
The Renegades came out hard and fast and built up a 24-0 lead by halftime, with relentless defensive pressure and good ball movement on offense, and held control of the game until the final whistle. It was a solid team effort, with tries scored by several Renegades, including Captain Scott Hutchison, new Irish center James Hayes, 8-man Brian Parton, new flanker Brent Vickers, and center Keith Jakupca.
